February 2nd, 2021 – SIET at the SNETP FORUM

Sustainable Nuclear Energy Technology Platform FORUM

SNEPT is the Sustainable Nuclear Energy Technology Platform that was established in 2007 to support and promote the safe, reliable and efficient operation of civil nuclear systems.

SIET participated as a speaker to the SNETP FORUM 2021 that was held online on February 2 to 4.

The initial plenary session was followed by technical sessions and SIET contribution was to the technical session TS2 dedicated to upcoming SMR Small Modular Reactors.

SMRs are small size nuclear power plants that are under development all over the world. Reduced size, intrinsic safety, in-shop manufacturability, economically advantageous, modularity, adequate for different electrical grids and remote installation are all characteristics that make them the plants of near future to meet the EU 2050 long term strategy of neutral climate.

SIET presented their capabilities to support functionality and characterization tests of SMR systems and components, SIET unique test facilities, high power loops at SMR prototypical pressure and temperature conditions and a list of experiences led in more than 30-years activity.
