June 23rd, 2026 - SIET welcomes students from the Master course in Technologies for Nuclear Power Plants

SIET hosts post-graduate course students for hands-on training at experimental facilities

SIET recently welcomed participants from the post-graduate course Master in Technologies for Nuclear Power Plants, promoted by Ansaldo Nucleare in collaboration with Politecnico di Milano, for a technical visit to its experimental laboratories.

The visit provided students with the opportunity to explore SIET's experimental facilities and gain first-hand insight into the research activities that support the development, qualification, and validation of nuclear technologies. Guided by SIET's experts, participants learned how experimental testing contributes to the advancement of innovative solutions, the verification of safety-related systems, and the continuous improvement of nuclear technologies.

By experiencing these research infrastructures first-hand, students were able to bridge the gap between theory and practice, gaining a deeper understanding of the role that experimental facilities play in supporting innovation and fostering a strong nuclear safety culture.

The visit to SIET followed a tour of the TRIGA Mark II research reactor at LENA (University of Pavia), offering participants the opportunity to experience two complementary research environments and broaden their perspective on Italy's nuclear research and technology landscape.

Supporting the education of future nuclear professionals is an important part of SIET's commitment to advancing scientific knowledge and technological innovation. By opening its laboratories to students and young engineers, SIET contributes to the development of the skills and expertise that will help shape the future of safe and sustainable nuclear energy.
