ELSMOR project: paper 6672504 published

SIET participated in the ELSMOR European Project: (towards European Licensing of Small MOdular Reactors).

The project aims to provide European stakeholders with methods and tools to assess and verify the safety of Light Water Small Modular Reactors (LW-SMR) to be deployed in Europe.

In particular, Work Package 3, Task 3.3 is dedicated to the demonstration of a methodology for the experimental evaluation of passive safety systems on the prototypical passive Decay Heat Removal System (DHRS) of the E-SMR reference design. It is also dedicated to the collection of experimental data for thermal-hydraulic code validation.

The SIET activity was mainly focused on the experimental campaign which was carried out to investigate the effect of various parameters on the stability of the fluid circulation and the heat transfer capabilities.

At the end of the activity the description of the tests and the summarised results were published in "Science and Technology of Nuclear Installations" paper 6672504. This is an open access journal, which means that the full text of all published articles is made freely available on the journal's website without any subscription or registration barriers.
