Thermo-fluid dynamic calculations
SIET can perform complex calculations in the field of one-dimension fluid dynamics and heat transfer by using advanced numerical codes designed by the major international research bodies. Especially through the plant modeling it is possible to foresee the plant behaviour during operational transients and accident conditions.

Performed activities:
- Pre-test and post-test calculations to support design and experimentation of LWR nuclear power plant systems (SPES, SIP-1, PERSEO)
- Calculations on molten-salt solar plants (PCS)
- Calculations on liquid metal loops in the field of nuclear fusion (IFMIF)
- Calculations on Pb-Bi liquid metal loops in the field of sub-critical fast reactors (ADS e XADS)
