Validation of thermal-hydraulic computational codes on the basis of test data
Nuclear Engineering and Design jounal, volume 444, is publishing the results of international research for the validation of thermal-hydraulic computational codes on the basis of test data recorded at SIET.
As part of the ELSMOR (Toward European Licensing of Small Modular Reactors) project, an experimental facility has been set up at SIET (Piacenza, Italy) to test a passive heat removal system.
An experimental campaign has been carried out to investigate the effect of different parameters on the behavior of the passive system.
These experimental tests were firstly modelled with the CATHARE 3 code (French system calculation code).
The publication compares the calculation results with the actual experimental data recorded during the tests.
