High flux heat transfer on thermal shields for nuclear fusion

The capacities of the SIET labs allows for experiments on advanced fluid dynamics. Within the European research on the development of fusion reactors, tests on heat transfer advanced techniques with single-phase and two-phase flow have been carried out in the framework of the NET (Nuclear European Torus) research and development. The test consisted in experiments on finned tubular sections (hypervapotron effect) or provided with helical turbulence promoters. Very high heat fluxes have been reached during experimentation (up to 37 MW/m2).
